Deep Local Roots with Fresh Perspectives Respect RESPECT IS A UNIVERSAL NEED Respect is a very important issue. The board needs to respect the teachers, administrators, parents, and students. The teachers need to respect the board, administrators, parents, and students. The administrators need to... OK, you get the point. RESPECT IN THE DISTRICT NEEDS TO BE RESTORED It has been a long time since this level of respect has existed in our district. It can be restored. Respect comes from open communication and shared goals and visions. Please refer to the Communications page for more on that topic. WE SHOULD ALL HAVE A COMMON GOAL Everyone involved in our educational system in the Valley should have the same goal. We should all be focused keenly on providing the most effective education possible for our children. While some in the system may have other motives, I believe those numbers are few. The vast majority of students, parents, teachers, administrators, and board members want the best education available. When students leave the school system, we all want them to excel at whatever path they choose for their future. I WILL WORK TO PROMOTE THIS VISION If we all have this shared vision, we can also all work as a cohesive team to ensure this result. As long as the communication is good enough to enlighten everyone about the key aspects of any decision, we can pull it off. Not everyone will agree with every decision, but we will all be able to respect the final result. This is the relationship between the board and the rest of the community that I will work extremely hard to create. |
