RIDGECREST IS MY HOME

I first moved to Ridgecrest in 1962, via a delivery room in Ridgecrest Community Hospital. Since then I've graduated from elementary school, junior high, and high school in the Sierra Sands Unified School District before getting a Bachelors degree at UC Davis. Since then, I've been a businessman in high tech companies on both coasts of the U.S. My family and I returned to Ridgecrest in May 2002. I've thoroughly enjoyed, and been challenged, over the last four years working on the base in a project management group. We've enjoyed being back and continue to be excited about the prospects of continuing to raise our family in this unique and wonderful community.

MY COMMITMENT TO YOUR FAMILY

As I have grown personally, professionally, and spiritually over the years, nothing has had the impact on me that settling down with my sweetheart and raising a family has. I want the best for them, and am asking you for the opportunity to develop the best for you and your families as well.

STUDENTS ARE OUR FOCUS

My platform is very simple. It's the Students. Every decision must be tested against, "What is best for the students of the district as a whole?" Teachers must be given the tools to teach to the best of their abilities. Communication between the Students, Teachers, Administrators, and Parents must be efficient and effective.

OUR SCHOOLS MUST BE SAFE

Drugs must be eradicated from our schools. Violence must not be tolerated. Gangs have no place in our community or our schools. Respect for Students, Teachers, Administrators, and Parents by Students, Teachers, Administrators, and Parents must be restored. And all of this needs to be done in an era of decreasing budgets and increasing costs.

MY EXPERIENCE WILL HELP

In order for all of this to be accomplished we need quality people on the School Board. We need people who are intelligent and unbiased, with broad experiences that can be applied to the breadth of issues that come before the Board. I'm sure you will find that I have the necessary intelligence; that I have no agenda to push other than developing the educational experience in the District; and, that I have been places and done things that have equipped me exceedingly well to bring the best to your family and mine as a member of the Sierra Sands Unified School District Board of Education.
